ATS Memorial
Commissioned by: ATS Veterans Association
Materials: Concrete
Height: 2.6 Metres
Location: National Memorial Arboretum, Staffordshire
Unveiled in 2006 this memorial was the brainchild of ATS veterans who wanted their contribution to the war commemorated. The sculpture depicts a seated ATS woman in uniform, looking over her shoulder. The veterans wanted for the figure to look reflective but not sombre, and to be a simple and dignified representation of an ATS girl in uniform. All of the money was raised by the assosiation in less than a year.
